Dr. Dua Weraikat is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Industrial Engineering Department at RIT Dubai, where she founded the IE program in 2016 and built it into both a BS and MS degree. Her research applies artificial intelligence and operations research to problems where technology decisions carry real consequences, resilient pharmaceutical supply chains, sustainable logistics, and healthcare systems, with highly cited publications in leading Q1 journals. A hands-on advocate for responsible AI adoption, she develops AI-powered teaching tools, studies GenAI-enhanced learning, and champions classroom policies that distinguish AI assistance from outsourced thinking. She co-chaired the International Conferences on Optimization and Industrial Engineering, serves as a Director of the IISE Operations Research Division Board (2025–2027), and has received multiple IISE international awards for mentorship. She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Concordia University, Montreal.
