Instructions for Invited Session Submissions

Invited sessions are sessions proposed for the technical program consisting of papers on a shared topic or theme.

The process for invited sessions is as follows:

  1. A one-page summary of the proposed invited session, outlining the session topic and providing contact information and brief biosketch(es) of the session organizer(s) should be uploaded to EDAS before the invited session submission deadline. If authors and titles of prospective contributions to the session are known, they can be included. Otherwise, the organizer(s) can indicate that they will be contacting potential authors.

  2. The invited session proposal will be promptly reviewed. If accepted, proposers will be sent a code for their invited session that they can share with colleagues who have agreed to contribute to the session. At least four manuscripts (full or short papers) should be submitted for the session.

  3. The authors of the contributions should upload their papers independently following the submission instructions, selecting the invited session checkbox on the submission site and entering the session code.

  4. The papers submitted as part of the invited session will be reviewed independently. If four or more contributions are accepted, the session will be accepted for the program. Accepted contributions from the general submission pool in the same topical area may also be included to complete the session.

  5. If sufficiently many contributions to hold the invited sessions are not accepted, the accepted contributions will be included in the general pool and may be distributed across different sessions.

  6. The session organizer will be informed of the disposition of the proposed invited session within two weeks of the author notification date.

As an encouragement for invited sessions, if an invited session is accepted, presenting authors of accepted invited-session contributions will be eligible for a 15% discount on the registration fee.
