CISSS de la Montérégie-Ouest
Kathy Malas is the Chief Research, Learning, Innovation and AI Officer, CISSS de la Montérégie-Ouest. She is a committed digital health leader who promotes the integration of care, teaching, research, and innovation, including AI, in practices and management of University Hospital Centers, in partnership with patients-citizens, employees, the organization, and external partners. With a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Montreal and a Graduate Certificate in Health Management from McGill University, she promotes open innovation to better meet the health and wellness of patients and their families in interdisciplinary and cross-sector partnerships with all partners in the health ecosystem. Her numerous achievements include the co-development, co-deployment, impact measurement, and sustainability of several organizational, social, and digital innovations. She previously served as Associate CEO of Innovation & AI at Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM). Kathy also serves on the board of the Digital Health Institute for Transformation (DHIT), a non-profit education and research institute supporting organizations and communities through the process of digital transformation.
