About

This panel session, sponsored by the IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology, focuses on the social and ethical dimensions of “technological disruption” that most urgently require the attention of scholars and practitioners working in engineering management fields. Panelists will share insights from a range of disciplinary perspectives, focusing on how disruption from technology (a) can be viewed through social and ethical lenses, (b) reflects intentional choices, actions, and policies, and (c) occurs at various scales (local, regional, national, global) that relate to one another in different, often complex ways. Following short opening remarks from panelists, the session will unfold as a moderated discussion with dedicated time for audience questions.
